Overview
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Configuring BGP on Cisco Routers version 4.0 provides students with in-depth knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), the routing protocol that is one of the foundations of the Internet and New World technologies such as Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS). This curriculum covers the theory of BGP, configuration of BGP on Cisco IOS routers, detailed troubleshooting information, and hands-on exercises that provide learners with the skills that they need to configure and troubleshoot BGP networks in customer environments. Different service solutions in the curriculum cover BGP network design issues and usage rules for various BGP features, preparing learners to design and implement efficient, optimal, and trouble-free BGP networks.
Audience Profile
This course is intended primarily for network administrators, network engineers, network managers and systems engineers who would like to implement BGP.
Prerequisite(s) Recommended
Cisco® Interconnecting Cisco® Networking Devices Part 1 v3.0 (ICND1). Cisco® Interconnecting Cisco® Networking Devices Part 2 v3.0 (ICND2). Cisco® Interconnecting Cisco® Networking Devices Accelerated v3.0 (CCNAX). Cisco® Building Cisco® Service Provider Next-Generation Networks, Part 1 v1.01 (SPNGN1). Cisco® Building Cisco® Service Provider Next-Generation Networks, Part 2 v1.01 (SPNGN2). Cisco® Implementing Cisco® IP Routing v2.0 (ROUTE). The knowledge and skills that a learner must have before attending this course are as follows: • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Cisco IOS Software configuration • Configuring and troubleshooting RIP, EIGRP, OSPF and IS-IS.
Learning Objectives
After completing this course, the student should be able to: Configure, monitor and troubleshoot basic BGP to enable interdomain routing. Use BGP policy controls to influence the route selection process with minimal impact on BGP route processing. Use BGP attributes to influence the route selection process. Identify common BGP scaling issues and enable route reflection and confederations as possible solutions to these issues. Use available BGP tools and features to optimize the scalability of the BGP routing protocol. Technical Features of the Course include the following: BGP. Transit AS. AS-Path. Route Reflectors. BGP Scalability. Certification BGP is part of the CCIP track (BGP exam is 642-661).
